  • What’s different about MyPhysio
You'll be with the same PT for your entire session, every time. Your session is always 60 minutes, and you'll never be left alone to do the work by yourself. If you need to reach out between sessions, you have a direct line to your PT so you can ask any questions you've got. If you work out with a trainer or coach, we'll communicate with them directly to make sure they're aware of what's going on.
  • What will I do in physical therapy?
Your treatment plan will be designed just for you, but know this: this isn't your typical physical therapy. If you need to squat, jump, and run... We're going to squat, jump and run. You can't get back to your sport or your workout routine on bands and hands-on work alone.
  • Does MyPhysio take my insurance?
I've found the best way to get people better is to spend our entire session one-on-one, so you can get the most out of it. That lets you learn what you need to do, how to do it, and what you should expect so you always feel like you're getting better (even outside the clinic.) In most cases, your insurance company just won't pay for that. There's a reason most clinics see 3-4 patients at a time - it's how they make those insurance contracts work. Some policies do reimburse our clients for up to 60% of their care at MyPhysio, and if you'd like to call them and ask, I've created a script of questions for you to ask them. Download the file here:
  • Do I need to see a doctor?
In most circumstances I can evaluate and treat you for up to two weeks before needing a prescription. If you come to see me without a referral, I will coordinate with your physician to get a prescription if necessary.
  • Sounds great, how do I get started?
Schedule a free call below and we'll see if it's right for you. If you like what you hear, we'll set up a full evaluation. From there we create a custom plan for you and get you back to your life!
  • Do you only treat golfers?
No, but that is the area where I specialize! I've regularly worked with athletes from other sports like basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball to get back to sport after injury or surgery.
  • What are your prices?
At MyPhysio, we're all about transparency. Everyone has had an unpleasant experience with getting "surprise" bills from medical providers and we want to avoid that at all costs. During your discovery call, we'll go through pricing and what you should expect based upon our interpretation of what is going on with you (total visits, time in therapy, and therefore total cost of treatment). You can review our prices here:
  • How does it work?
We will start by performing an evaluation of your golf-specific athleticism based upon the principles of the Titleist Performance Institute. We will also look at your golf swing for any fundamental flaws that may be caused by poor flexibility or strength. Then we'll design a program of exercises targeting your needs for flexibility, strength, power, and speed. This may include more flexibility to help with your turn, or more hip strength to prevent a sway or slide that you don't want.
  • Is this physical therapy?
No - the golf performance program is intended for healthy individuals to prepare their bodies more effectively for golf. We will work to improve strength, flexibility, power generation, and control as it pertains to your golf game. However, many of my physical therapy patients who are golfers go into my performance program once it the time is right.
  • Can you help fix my swing?
I can help you fix the physical issues that are limiting your swing, including flexibility or strength deficits. I can also help correct some coordination and movement patterns so that you'll be able to produce a better golf swing (for instance, keeping shoulders on plane, staying in posture, shifting weight more appropriately) but I do not teach the golf swing. There are people much more qualified than me to do that, and I'd prefer to get you in contact with someone who does that part professionally.
  • What does "TPI-Certified" mean?
The Titleist Performance Institute certification courses help fitness and medical professionals learn skills specifically applicable to golfers so we can achieve those goals.
  • Is this program the same for everyone?
Your program will be individual to you and your goals. If your strength training regimen is sufficient, we will focus on the other components like flexibility, power, and speed. If you're busy and don't want to come for individual training sessions, we may opt to set up your program remotely and get your workouts in when and where it's convenient.
  • Will my insurance cover golf performance?
No, this program is intended for healthy individuals and will not meet the requirements for physical therapy.
  • Can I use my FSA/HSA?
Depending on your plan, you may be able to use those funds for a "wellness program" like this, since the foundation is in strength and flexibility and is applicable to your everyday life. That would be determined by the details of your plan, however. If you can spend it on a personal trainer, you can spend it with MyPhysio!
  • Can I get a personal trainer instead?
Personal trainers are experts in fitness and an excellent resource, but most do not have the specialized knowledge to address the issues you're looking to fix in your golf game.
